Best Ever Third Place Finish For Tufts Athletics in Learfield Directors' Cup The continued success of the Tufts Athletics programs was once again apparent on Thursday as the Jumbos varsity athletics program finished a best-ever third in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Division III standings for 2016-17. November 20, 2016 Messiah Edges Field Hockey In Shootout For Program's First National Championship On a cold and snowy day both No. 1 Messiah and No. 2 Tufts field hockey team were not able to score in 100 minutes of play and the NCAA Final was decided by a shootout at McCooey Field on the campus of William Smith College. Messiah won the shootout, 2-1, to win the 2016 NCAA Field Hockey national championship, their first in program history.
November 19, 2016 Zarrella's Second Half Goal Sends Field Hockey to National Championship Game After not being able to get off a shot in the first half, the No. 3 Tufts field hockey team got a second half goal from senior Dominique Zarrella to edge No. 2 Salisbury, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at William and Smith College in Geneva, N.Y. in the NCAA semifinals. The Jumbos advance to play top-ranked Messiah in the NCAA Final on Sunday at 1 pm.

November 14, 2016 Field Hockey to Face Salisbury in Semifinals of NCAA Division III Championship Saturday The NCAA Regional Champion and NESCAC Champion Tufts University Field Hockey team will be playing in the Final Four of the NCAA Division III Championship at McCooey Field in Geneva, N.Y. on the campus of William Smith College on Saturday for a 2 p.m. start.
