Women's Cross Country Comes in 11th out of 28 at NEICAAA Championship

Freshman Carly Curcuru was Tufts' third finisher today.

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Tufts University women's cross country team placed 11th out of 28 teams today at the New England Inter-Collegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship at Franklin Park in Boston.

The Jumbos finished with an overall team score 278 with their top five runners being taken into account for scoring purposes. The University of New Hampshire won with a score of 101 followed by Boston College (119) and MIT (131).

Junior Natalie Bettez was Tufts' top finisher and 11th overall with a time of 18:23. Brittany Bowman was next coming in 38th with a time of 18:52.  Carly Curcuru was third for the Jumbos and 62nd overall with a 19:14.

Kelsey Tierney and Alexandra Wolf rounded out Tufts' top five finishing with times of 19:27 and 19:45 respectively. Margot Rashba and Lydia Heely also competed for the Jumbos.

The team's next meet will be next Saturday at the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford, Connecticut.
