Anna Clarke, Women's Lacrosse

Clarke was at her best this weekend as Tufts advanced to the NCAA "Final Four" with victories against Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday (18-10) and Franklin & Marshall on Sunday (14-9) at home. She led the team in scoring with seven goals and nine points, including three for four success on free-position chances. She also won eight draw controls and surpassed 100 for the season. Against Pomona-Pitzer, she set the tone by winning the opening draw and going down and scoring 11 seconds into the game. She had two more in the second quarter as Tufts built a 14-4 halftime lead. Then in the Elite 8, she tallied four goals and two assists against the Diplomats while also taking five draws. Again she scored Tufts' first goal and had two in the first quarter as the Jumbos jumped out to a 5-3 lead. Later in the game, she scored twice after F&M had pulled within two goals, helping Tufts keep a safe distance with 8-5 and 11-8 leads. Her play helped head coach Courtney Shute's team reach the Final Four for the third straight season.
