Corey Marley, Men's Tennis

At the Wallach Invitational hosted by Bates College October 9-10, Marley won the D singles title and also joined with freshman teammate Vuk Vuksanovic to earn the B double crown. Seeded third in the singles bracket, Marley had a first-round bye and then defeated Zach Ostrow from Amherst College 6-3, 7-5 in the quarterfinals on Saturday. He won in Sunday’s semifinal round 6-1, 6-4 versus James Liam Dun from host Bates. Ironically, he played Tufts teammate and classmate Oliver Obeid in the championship match and won 4-6, 6-3, 10-3. In doubles, the Jumbo pair shut out (8-0) their first opponents from Colby and then won 8-6 in the quarterfinals versus a Skidmore duo on Saturday. Tufts had three different doubles teams in the B semifinals on Sunday, and Marley-Vuksanovic defeated Jack Moldenhauer and Obeid in the semis (8-5) and then #1 seed Rishabh Sharda and Dylan Glickman in the final (8-3).
