Harris Hardiman-Mostow, Men's Rowing

What has been the best thing about your Tufts experience so far?

In short, the opportunity to be around people who genuinely care about what they are doing. My teammates and coaches are some of the hardest working people I've ever met, and I've seen so many professors who put an insane amount of effort into teaching and mentoring their students when they could easily put in less. It's something that I cherish and has made me a better student, athlete and person.

What is your favorite rowing memory so far?

I can't possibly pick just one. My first time racing Head of the Charles in 2018 is something I won't ever forget. It's a race unlike any other. Sprinting past Williams and BC to get bronze at New England's my freshman year was insane. Absolutely destroying the doubles field at Head of the Fish in 2019 and then beating Trinity the next weekend was electric.

What is your favorite class you have taken at Tufts?

Lots to choose from. I think Mathematical Aspects of Data Analysis with Professor Borgers and Real Analysis with Professor Tu are two of my favorites.

Are you involved in anything on campus outside of rowing?

I'm part of Professor James Murphy's research group in the Math Department, where we research machine learning, data science and other fun stuff.

What are you majoring in? As of now, what are your post-graduation plans?

I'm studying Mechanical Engineering and Math, and plan to start a PhD in Math in the fall.
