Patricia Obeid, Women's Tennis

What has been the best thing about your Tufts experience so far?

The best thing about my Tufts experience has been the memories I made being on the Tufts Voute Tennis courts. Playing some of the most grueling and emotional matches of my life, dancing to "Electric Love" with teammates as we blast music on the speakers, classmates hollering at me from Pro row, to warming up to the Medford sunrises. The Voute Courts will always have a special place in my heart.

What's your favorite tennis memory so far?

My favorite tennis memory would have to be my sophomore year spring break (2019). That trip really brought the team together despite not having a couple of our essential team members that semester. Our trip was truly filled with endless laughter and singing. Beating Williams College that trip is a moment I'll never forget.

What is your favorite class you have taken at Tufts and why?

One of my favorite classes at Tufts would have to be Tai Chi. Tai Chi was a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of college life. I got to practice meditation in the dance studio, my own room, as well as Tisch roof! I was particularly interested in the history of the art. Sheriden Thomas was my professor and she brought lots of energy and passion every class. She is such a character. Highly recommend!

Are you involved in anything on campus outside of tennis?

I am currently a member of The Ivy (formally known as Alpha Phi). The Ivy has been created as a local sorority (a decision past members voted on) and drives to be a more inclusive environment. There is much more flexibility that comes with this decision. I am also a Teacher Assistant in the Entrepreneurship Department at the Gordon Institute!

What are you majoring in? As of now, what are your post-graduation plans?

I am a Pure Mathematics major with a minor in Entrepreneurship. I plan on working in IT post-graduation and hope to get my MBA down the road.
