MEDFORD - The 2021 spring sports teams at Tufts University placed 192 student-athletes on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Academic Teams released today. That's the most out of the 11 schools in the conference.
A total of 1,350 student-athletes were named to the 2021 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team by the conference office. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one year of study at the institution.
Representatives from Tufts' baseball, golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's rowing, women's rowing, sailing, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's outdoor track & field and women's outdoor track & field are represented among the 192 Jumbo honorees.
NESCAC Softball Pitcher of the Year Kristina Haghdan, Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year Molly Laliberty, Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year Catherine Lawliss, Men’s Tennis Co-Player of the Year Boris Sorkin and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Performer Danielle Page were among the All-Academic honorees who collected an All-NESCAC honor this spring.
Two Jumbo student-athletes garnered a spot on the All-Academic Team, an All-NESCAC Team, and the All-Sportsmanship Team. In the select group which includes only 11 student-athletes overall, were Sorkin and Golf senior Harry Theodore.
