Mark Adzigian, the Associate Director of Development for Athletics, started working in the University Advancement Office at Tufts University in September 2015.  He works directly with the Advancement staff, Director of Athletics, and coaching staff to generate funds that will supplement and enhance current budgetary needs in the Department of Athletics.

Prior to his work with Tufts, he served as the General Manager for Atlantic Hockey Sports Properties, working with the Atlantic Hockey Conference commissioner on behalf of the AHC.  His primary responsibilities included the development and management of a comprehensive corporate sponsorship and branding program for sales and marketing of the Atlantic Hockey Conference Tournament in Rochester, NY.

Adzigian spent 15 years at Sacred Heart University in various positions, culminating as a Senior Associate Athletic Director where he was a member of the senior athletic management group and oversaw the equipment room and the purchasing of all departmental team equipment and apparel.  He provided daily leadership and oversight to the areas of corporate sponsorship and the corporate partner program, marketing and promotions, licensing and merchandising, community relations, ticket operations, athletic communications and game day operations / event management.  He also had programmatic oversight for the cheerleading team while serving as the liaison for the marching band, pep band and dance team.  He ran the annual Department of Athletics Golf Tournament, Celebrity Fundraising Breakfast and the Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet, while also acting as the primary liaison with the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations.

Adzigian began his professional career when he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps in 1989.  Serving as an artillery officer and stationed primarily in Okinawa, Japan and Camp Pendleton, California, Adzigian was part of Task Force Ripper during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and the liberation of Kuwait.  He was later assigned to officer selection officer duty and stationed in Minneapolis, MN, charged with recruiting for the Marine officer programs.

Upon separation from the Marine Corps in 1996 and the completion of his graduate work in sport management, he completed a two-year athletic marketing internship at the University of Connecticut from the fall of 1997 through the spring of 1999. 

A founding member of the Board of Directors of the Fairfield County Sports Commission, he served on the board continuously from 2002-2013.  He was the tournament director for numerous Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Basketball, Lacrosse, and Volleyball, and Men’s Soccer Tournaments from 2003 – 2013.  He was also the site director for the 2003 USILA North-South Men's Lacrosse All-Star Games, as well as the 2004 - 2006 Major League Lacrosse Draft & Combines, all held at Sacred Heart University.

He was the first chairman for the NEC Marketing Directors Committee, serving from its inception in 2007 through 2013, and was the NEC representative for both NACMA and ICLA in 2012-13.  In 2007 and 2008, he also served on the Atlantic Hockey Conference (AHC) Marketing Committee.  In 2010, he completed a six-year term as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Silver Bay Association YMCA Conference Center on Lake George in New York.  While there he served on the CEO Selection Committee.  He began a new term on the Board at Silver Bay in January 2016.

In addition, he has enjoyed coaching his daughters in their youth softball and lacrosse leagues since 2007.  He is a 1988 graduate of Tufts University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, played lacrosse all four years and ice hockey one year.  He later earned his Master's Degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1997.  Adzigian resides in Medford with his wife, Mary, and they have three daughters and two sons.
