Lance Greene was promoted to Director of Facilities, Events & Operations within the Tufts University Department of Athletics in January 2022. Among many other duties, he will manage facility operations and maintenance, handle all space reservation requests, and supervise all home contest managers for home athletic events.
Greene initially joined the Tufts staff as Assistant Director of Recreation & Club Sports in June 2021. In this position, he oversaw the department’s expansive program of recreational offerings, club sports, intramurals, and physical education classes and mini-courses.
Greene joined the Jumbos from Endicott College, where he served as the Club Sports Coordinator from 2017 to 2021. A 2013 graduate of Endicott with a degree in sport management, Greene has two Master’s degrees as well. He received an MBA from Springfield College in 2014 and a Master’s in athletic administration from Endicott in 2017.
"We are very excited to have Lance join the Jumbos," said Matt McMasters, Assistant Director of Athletics and chair of the hiring committee said at the time of Greene's hire. "Throughout the entire process, he impressed everyone with his passion and dedication for student life, as well as his experience working with students and student-athletes at Endicott."
In addition to being the point-person for administering all club sport programs and new club initiatives on the Endicott campus, Greene was also an assistant coach of the men’s varsity basketball program and held additional game operations and event management responsibilities. He was a Residence Director on campus from 2015-17 as well.
Originally from Dorchester, Mass., Greene scored 1,268 points and was a four-time All-Conference selection for Endicott Men's Basketball. He also received the Commonwealth Coast Conference's Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
