Norie Hammond is the newest full-time staff member for the Tufts Swimmings teams and will work in all areas within the program.
Hammond has been coaching for 15 years and brings with her a wide variety of experience. Over the course of her career, she has worked with club, high school, college, and professional post-grad swimmers from all over the world including two-time Olympian Heather Arseth, U.S. Olympian and former World Champion Jordan Wilomovsky, U.S. National Team member Katy Campbell, as well as a few foreign national team members. Hammond has developed U.S. and High School All-Americans, Olympic Trials qualifiers (in 2016 and 2020), Senior and Junior national qualifiers, Futures Champions and qualifiers, and Sectional Champions and qualifiers.
Most recently she served as Associate Head Coach for the YMCA of the North Shore in Massachusetts. Prior to that position she was the Head Sprint Coach at Team Santa Monica (Calif.), Senior Program Director with Peddie Aquatics and the Peddie School (N.J.), and Assistant Coach and Stroke specialist at Trinity Prep (Fla.).
In addition to coaching, Hammond has participated in the USA Swimming Women's Leaderships Summit for the past five years and volunteered with the U.S. Special Olympics.
