Joshi Wins Consolation Match at Women's Squash National Individual's

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Riddhi Joshi of the Tufts women's squash team won a consolation round match in the Holleran Cup B Division at the 2022 College Squash Association (CSA) National Collegiate Individual Championships on Friday.

On Friday morning, the 12th-seeded Joshi won a game in her opening-round match against #5 seed Lujan Palacios from Trinity before ultimately falling 11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 11-8.

Into the Holleran South consolation bracket on Friday afternoon, Joshi went five games to defeat #13 seed Danielle Benstock from Brown. The Jumbo #1 player won the first two before Benstock battled back to tie the match, but Joshi won the fifth game to take the victory (11-9, 11-9, 7-11, 8-11, 11-7).

Joshi moves on to the consolation semifinals and a 12:10 pm match on Saturday against Ciara Richards from Drexel.

The event is being hosted at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.

The Holleran Cup South Division is one of four tournaments being held this weekend (North, East, South, West) that represent the second division of individual players nationally. The top 16 individuals are competing for the Pool Trophy.
