Women's Tennis Finishes Undefeated Regular Season With Win At Trinity

HARTFORD - The Tufts University women's tennis team completed a perfect NESCAC East Division record (4-0) today with an 8-1 victory at Trinity College.

Tufts is 6-0 overall and will face West Division champion Wesleyan in the conference championship match next weekend. The Bantams are now 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the NESCAC East.

Today the Jumbos rolled past the Bantams, starting with sweeping the doubles matches. Tufts' #2 duo of Tilly Rigby and Casey Cummings worked hard for an 8-7 (2) win that finished the sweep. At #1, Maggie Dorr and Caroline Garrido lost just three games to get Tufts started. Kiara Rose and Anna Lowy also won handily for Tufts in an 8-4 #3 doubles final.

Kennedy May on the sixth singles court put Tufts up 4-0 with her 6-0, 6-3 win against Morgan Wilkins. The Jumbos then clinched the team victory with a 6-1, 6-2 victory by Rigby against Isabella Hartfman in the #1 singles contest.

Maddie Suk (6-2, 6-1 at #2), Nicki Frankel (6-3, 6-3 at #3) and Zoe Kava (6-4, 6-0 at #4) also won for Tufts. Trinity's lone win came in fifth singles where Ashley Walker prevailed 3-6, 6-4, 12-10 in the last match to finish allowing the hosts to avoid a shutout.
