Women's Tennis Wins 13 of 15 Matches on Sunday at Middlebury Invite

Maggie Dorr MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Tufts University women's tennis team won 13 of the 15 matches that they played on the second day of the Middlebury Invitational Sunday.

The tournament was played in a hidden dual format with no winners or trophies. The Jumbos played singles and doubles competition against players from the host Panthers and Bowdoin College.

The Jumbo doubles tandem of Tilly Rigby with Elle Christensen, who will travel to Georgia later this week for the ITA Cup fall championships, warmed up with two wins on Sunday. They defeated Middlebury's Claudia Miller and Sahana Raman 8-6 and Bowdoin's Kennedi Carter and Evelyn Safar 8-7 (5).

Senior Maggie Dorr (picured) and sophomore Zoe Kava both were a part of two doubles victories and a singles win on the day. They paired together to defeat Amanda Frank and Nathalie Van Der Reis of Middlebury 8-6. Dorr also won with Maddie Suk and Kava joined Anna Lowy for a victory. Dorr had her singles win against Middlebury's BrinLea LaBarge 6-3, 6-1, while Kava defeated Panther Gena Huang in three (6-1, 2-6, 12-10).

Suk and freshman Sophie Wax were a part of two doubles-winning teams.
